I-131 with an INS Service Center. The two most common INS bond types are a Delivery Bond and a Voluntary Departure Bond. A Delivery Bond is set for an amount that will ensure the alien’s appearance for any future immigration hearings or proceedings. A Voluntary Departure Bond is set when the alien is being ordered to leave the United States. Once released from DHS, the alien is given a certain amount of time to get his affairs together and to leave the United States. The amount of the immigration bond is partially based on an amount that will reasonably guarantee that the alien / defendant will leave the United States in the time specified and agreed.
